A little About us…

In the Beginning…….

Pine Road was originally conceived out of a passion for creating things out of timber and gardening. This combined with decades of home maintenance, house refurbishment and DIY it became the obvious route to developing Pine Road, using the knowledge and skills accrued over time to help customers with a wide range of tasks around the home and garden.

The name Pine Road didn’t even exist in the early 2000’s, that came much later, but the whole enterprise was inspired initially by a need for a little garden furniture for a newly constructed decking area at home and on searching around found a lack of garden furniture that had “character”.

After this first foray some friends asked for some bits to be created for them …..

And so the Pine Road “journey” had begun and soon other family and friends were soon putting forward their requests - a side table, garden benches, a seating area for my mother-in-law, planters for a neighbor, the jobs just kept on coming and then came the suggestion “have you ever thought of doing this full time…?” 

A difficult decision as for over 15 years at this point I had enjoyed working for a large furniture retailer who were an absolutely fantastic bunch to work with and had had been given so many opportunities within the company it was not an easy one to come to…

A dry run for the first time we were invited to the Frome Cheese show - a superb show if you want a good day out

But given the popularity of the work I was doing, finally a decision was made to give this enterprise a more permanent go, so after a bit of a brainstorming session (too much wine involved as some suggestions although certainly quite amusing - wood gave us quite a bit of material! ), my wife came up with the name Pine Road!

Our first ever outing at the Frome Cheese Show - a great day out!

So now a decade on Pine Roads portfolio of work has increased from the creating of furniture, decking and the reclaimed woodwork to all manner of DIY around the home and garden!
